THIS IS WHERE I'M AT

I need one of these kits.

Today, I....

Went shopping

Bought Christmas presents and had Christmas presents bought for me (always fun!)

Ate a delicious lunch at Cracker Barrel

Got some super-awesome shoes which I've decided to wear forever

Watched the old Little House on the Prarie on the way there

Watched the old cartoon version of Redwall in the car on the way home

Hugged my family a lot

Got stuck in the rain

Sent in my transcript to a college I'm applying to

Went into Carter's and just stared at all the cute baby clothes

Hung out with my sister and pretended to be rich and snobby in a super-expensive store

Got up really early (like, really REALLY early--7:00! That's EARLY, guys) *note* You don't have to take this part seriously >.>

Walked around--a lot

Saw some Amish buggies

And houses

And plows

And some Amish people!

Talked to my grandmother about Mae and learned some interesting facts, such as:

MAE'S dad was the owner of a livery stable, not a watchmaker as I had him in the book. One thing to change.

Her first husband was a British magazine model/interpreter who spoke four languages. Yeah, weird. What's even stranger is that I described him as this really good-looking guy in the book. I guess I just know everything :3

Mae was closest to her sister Clara, not her eldest sister Sophia (as I only thought natural).

And  Mae always thought her sister Rose was a bit off her rocker because their mother had been forced to squeeze through a barred window to escape a housefire when pregnant with Rose. I guess Mae thought Rose's brain got sqooshed XD

Yup. I did a lot of things today. But do you know what I didn't do?

I DIDN'T WRITE IN MY NANOWRIMO BOOOOOOOK.

*begins process of stress relief*

A Beautiful Background

Yes. Because I feel that this background deserves a title all its own. Although I couldn't let it have the whole post--that would be biased :] You can find the link to the site down by my Abort73 Banner at the bottom of the righthand column.

So, I'm really stressing out right now. As usual, I procrastinated terribly and am now running around like crazy trying to edit things I want to take. One encouraging thing is that I keep finding stuff that I've written months ago and am actually slightly impressed with it. I've found two short stories to take along for my magazine interview (you might get them tomorrow) and a few poems which I've always liked (they're probably in one of my pages on the side of this blog).

If you can, pray for the conference. I know I'm stressed, and I can't imagine how other people who actually have responsibility are feeling. This is gonna be big, and I'm so excited to be part of it for yet another year.

Signing out~

Three Weeks?!

I know, I know, I just made a fatal error in punctuation (and in my post title, no less) but I'm rather panicked at the moment! The Writer's Conference is the sneaky sort--it always creeps up on me--but NEVER have I been THIS unprepared. It's rather scary, actually.
I always try to get the most out of this conference--I mean, I don't want to pay over a hundred dollars (and that's with a generous discount!) and not get my money's worth. But it's just this year that I'm beginning to realize that this is a two-way thing--GPCWC provides the conference, the authors, editors, materials, suggestions, and opportunities--I gotta DO something with them!
And I have three weeks.
Blast.
Avaria's my biggest concern. It hasn't changed much from last year, and there is a lot of polishing I could still do on the first few chapters. But I don't want to limit myself to just that. I want to bring other ideas, short stories, even poems! I want to give people a broader view of my work (if you can call it that). I have so many things I could bring, but they need a bit of help.
In three weeks.

So, I'm asking for your opinion. I AM GOING TO POST SOME OF AVARIA (I just put that in caps as a reminder for myself to actually do it). But I need your help with other things as well.

*Of the things I've posted here, what would you like to see go to the conference?
* Of the things that you chose for the above, do any need changes/help?
* If so, can you suggest ways to make said things better?

I don't mean to make you do homework, and you don't have to. But I really would love your input--it would be very encouraging :]

On a happier note, I got BOOKS today! About fifteen! Most are from the 1950's and below; I stuffed them all into a poor shopping bag and nabbed the entire batch for only five dollars! I'm rather spazzed =D Just thought I'd share that random joy with you :]

Yours (Exhausted)~
